David Grove is passionate about helping founders and PE/VC backed management teams execute on complex transactions. Mr. Grove founded Vaquero Capital in 2011 to serve private Saas, Internet/mobile & data companies throughout their lifecycle and has over 19 years experience advising companies on capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. David has advised on over 45 transactions at Vaquero and over 120 transactions in his career. His clients/ transactions have included Alchemy Systems, DealerFx, Hyphen, Drilling Info, Allegro, Irth Solutions, Kony, Manta Media, HomeAway, Alchemy Systems, Zillow, StreetEasy/ Zillow, Vision/ Granicus, Quorum/ Entero, Dachis/Sprinklr, Brightcove, TechMediaNetwork, Motricity, ReachLocal, DTS, Monotype Imaging, Lexar Media, and DivX. He has worked on transactions with many leading investor partnerships, including Insight Venture Partners, Accel/KKR, Bain Capital, Benchmark Capital, Austin Ventures, TCV, Greycroft, ABS, Oak Investments and Redpoint Venture Partners. David was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and has been a senior leader in SaaS, Mobile, Internet & Digital Media groups in the middle market. He began his investment banking career at Cowen & Co. and served as a corporate attorney previously. He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law. Mr. Grove loves the slopes on Tahoe, Whistler/ Blackcomb, raising his three daughters, enjoying live music (from Willie Nelson to LCD Soundsystem) and playing golf.
Terry Jiang works on financial modeling and supports transaction execution. Prior to joining Vaquero, he worked as an analyst at Martin Wolf Global M&A Advisors. Terry graduated from the University of California San Diego with a B.S. in Management Science and a minor in Accounting.
Jarl Berntzen joined Vaquero with more than 25 years of investment banking, investment, and corporate development experience. He spent more than a decade in the mergers & acquisitions department at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and later built and headed up the mergers & acquisitions group at ThinkEquity Partners LLC, a national full service investment bank, where he advised a broad range of fast growing technology companies. He has extensive corporate development experience having led acquisition efforts and evaluated hundreds of public and private technology targets for Rambus Inc. and Dolby Laboratories Inc. In addition, he has held various positions on the buy-side as a principal investor and portfolio manager. Since 2006, Jarl has served as a director on the board of NASDAQ listed Century Aluminum Company where he has chaired numerous committees. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration and an M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration (Finance), both from Copenhagen Business School, and attended an international student exchange program with Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Jarl is an avid outdoor athlete, having completed the New York marathon six times, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, completed the swim from Alcatraz to San Francisco, and is a member of the Kirkwood Masters Ski Team. Having been an avid and ambitious soccer player in his youth, he is a passionate follower of European soccer.
Josh Moses leads Vaquero’s Chicago effort, and focuses on vertical SaaS, IOT and industrial/ transportation software. Josh joined Vaquero with over 18 years of finance experience, most recently as a Managing Director at First Analysis Securities Corporation, where he was a lead sourcing and execution banker in the technology and health care sectors. Prior to FASC, Josh worked at Lincoln International and William Blair working in a number of sectors, including health care, automotive and consumer. Josh graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in History, and received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Jesse Beamish is an associate, supporting the team through financial modeling and transaction execution. Prior to joining Vaquero, Jesse was an intern at FTI Consulting where he worked in their Corporate Finance department. Jesse was a Division I hockey player at Dartmouth College, where he graduated with a B.A. in Economics.
Parixit Bhakta is an associate supporting the team through financial modeling, transaction execution, and sector research. Prior to Vaquero, Parixit interned for Bank of America Merrill lynch. Parixit received a B.B.A. in Finance, with honors, and a B.S.A. in Mathematics, with high honors, from The University of Texas at Austin.
Josh Hartley is an Analyst, supporting the team through modeling, sector research, and transaction execution. Prior to joining Vaquero, Josh was an intern at PCI Group where he worked with their investment team. Josh was a Division I hockey player at Dartmouth College, where he graduated with a B.A.
Gabe Stauber is an analyst, supporting the team through financial modeling and transaction execution. Prior to joining Vaquero, Gabe spent time playing professional soccer and was a Private Equity Intern at Fortress Investment Group. Gabe was a 4 year soccer player at Dartmouth College, where he graduated with a B.A in Sociology and Economics.
Garret is an analyst, supporting the team through financial modeling, sector research, and transaction execution. Garret graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Finance). He was a three-year starter for the Huskies soccer team, earned Pac-12 Academic honors two-years running, and was a team-captain. Garret interned at Duff & Phelps during college.
Danny Allen leads operations and legal at Vaquero. He has a long history of managing and growing professional services businesses. He was COO & General Counsel at Carousel30, a digital marketing company, and EVP & General Counsel at Sensis, a national marketing and advertising agency. He began his career at major law firms including Preston, Gates & Ellis, Perkins Coie, Brobeck, and Dewey Ballantine. Danny graduated with a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, a J.D. from New York University School of Law, and a M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Joilene Grove provides legal, compliance and operational support. Prior to joining the firm, she worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto and as Vice President of Legal at Seven Post, a registered investment advisory firm. She started her legal career at Winstead in Houston and also spent several years at the California Bar Foundation. Joilene graduated from New York University School of Law and the University of Texas at Austin cum laude with a degree in English Honors.
Yolanda Yee has over 11 years of experience in office management and executive administration, including from Merriman Curhan Ford and most recently Global Leveraged Capital. Yolanda is a San Francisco native with a Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University.
